Information

This temple was built in the first year of the reign of Silla's King Shinmun (681 A.D.) by ambassador Euisang, the leader of Haedong Hwaeomjong. Choi Chi-won, who mastered Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism in the late Silla Period, built Gaun-Roo and Uhwa-Roo with the two major Buddhist monks Yeoji and Yeosa, used his nom de plume and built Gounsa Temple.
